Feature workshop: the power of augmented reality

Want to take your photography and video content to the next level?
Augmented Reality is a fantastic way for you to explore the virtual world and display your work in an entirely different setting.
This workshop, developed in partnership with the Australian Centre for Photography to celebrate Virtual Imperator - Edge of Empire, the latest exhibition from artist Shaun Gladwell, will introduce you to the basics of AR possibilities.
Focussing on themes from Gladwell's exhibition, participants will create their own 'auras' using the open source Aurasma application (available on iPhone and Android).
The workshop aims to empower each participant with the knowledge to continue developing their project following the workshop with the aim of being included in an augmented reality walking tour of the local area.
Please note: This workshop will not be dealing with advanced AR technology - it is a foundation course only.
Prerequisites and Requirements:
Images/Video you might like to include in your auras
Mobile Phone with camera (full charged battery)
Basic computer skills in content creation/manipulation.
iPads will be available, but participants are welcome to download Aurasma to their own devices and create their own logins prior to to the workshop.
