dLux MediaArts is one of Australia’s longest running screen arts organisations. From its inception as the Sydney Super 8 Group in 1982, through Sydney Intermedia Network in the 1990s, dLux MediaArts has been committed to supporting the development, engagement and experience of Australian screen and digital media culture.

It’s diverse program not only reflects the ongoing challenges of artistic production in a rapidly changing technological world, but also seeks to document the rich history and evolution of Australian artists working with film, video and interactive media through it’s national touring program with regional galleries, online archive, international touring exhibitions and now through the launch of the DELUXE dLux Edition series.

Sense of Place is an eight-part screening program Australian video, curated by Cash Brown in partnership with Museums and Galleries NSW screening currently in Toowoomba and Broken Hill Regional Galleries.

True Blue Love (TBL) is a mobile phone social networking experience, designed to explore the politics behind intimate phone-based relations. Using Series 60 Symbian phones, each participant enters the characteristics of their ideal sexual mate into the application. Every time another phone running the application comes within range, a love metric calculates how closely the other person matches the participant's ideal mate. If the match is close, the phones will emit a raucous mating call. The ridiculous sounds function as social ice-breakers, and the unwilling couple may want to discuss what it is that they have in common that triggered the noise.

This show draws together notable historic and contemporary artist's computer games that push the bounds of the genre. With works that span the last three decades—from Jaron Lanier's 1983 Commodore64 game 'Moondust' through to Tale of Tales' 2009 release 'The Path', all games in the show can be played and experienced with authenticity on original equipment.
