Patton Street Interviews

Patton Street is the main street in South Broken Hill and has been undergoing recent change and competition with newly built commercial developments from the other side of Broken Hill. The students conducted interviews (photographed, interviewed and filmed) with local residents, shop owners and passersby to understand its history, meaning, hidden stories and how they would like it to be.

The students from Broken Hill Youth College and the iStreet Lab brought the studio to the streets. It was an opportunity for the students to engage with the local community through demonstrating and informing people about the potentials of the iStreet Lab. The display also attracted the attention of visiting politicians, Malcom Turnbull and Rob Oakeshott MP.
