Uncle Bill is based on a series of my performances that deal with memory, abuse, the bizarre and retribution. It's dark narrative is set in a Post World War II Australian steel mining town. The Rom allows the viewer to explore the psyche of a young girl growing up in a harsh and at times violent environment, evoked through flashback, sonic resonances and brooding atmospheres. Uncle Bill digitally combines experimental video, 16mm archival film footage and original sound pieces to take the viewer into a disturbing psychosexual space.
